How about a Cuttle?

Description

So uh
my babe RosyAutumn has a love for cephalopods
and ever since I had seen the pattern that SewDesuNe made for a Squid pouch, I knew I wanted to make her one
So I held onto the pattern forever and ever, waiting for the day my printer worked and I could print it and try it out
Skip to last night, when I was borrowing a printer to finally get started- and when I remind her of the project in mind, she quickly and cutely declared "I love cephalopods! Especially Cuttlefish."
A lightbulb went off in my head. What if instead of a squid, I made her a cuttlefish pouch? So, after scouring the internet for references and brainstorming ideas, I immediately got to work on turning the squid into a cuttlefish-
It was pretty easy, actually. I just widened the headpiece, and adjusted the eyes to that W shape that cuttlefish have. It still kinda just looks like a fat squid, but I tried. It came out super cute and I'm in love, and hope she'll love it just as much!

Rosy's favorite color is blue, so of course I dug through my fabrics to find something blue that would work. The accent fabric was chosen by her, and the little flower at the top is something I added myself from a scrap fabric. Everything is machine and hand sewn, though the details were attached first as an applique. The liner is just a plain white cotton that I had lying around, and the inside pouch is actually made with the original squid-sized head piece. All in all this was a pretty fun project, and I'm hoping I'll be able to make another one soon! (or the original squid, even-)

The original squid pouch pattern can be found here on dA, and again was designed by SewDesuNe
her website is at cholyknight.com/

Now I'm off to snap more pictures before I throw it at Rosy-
